Behind the lens:

About Me:

I grew up in Guildford and have always been based in the Surrey and Hampshire area; currently living in Bordon with my husband and 2 little pups. Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember, inspired by my dad and grandad, who both shared a real passion for this craft. They were particularly interested in nature photography and that is the area I therefore started with, following in their footsteps.

My first digital camera was a little Nikon Coolpix that went everywhere with me. I have such fond memories of summer trips to Wisley Gardens with my grandad, taking endless close-ups of flowers and bumblebees. I’d rush home excited to upload the photos to the computer to see how they’d turned out! I still smile thinking about how impressed he was with some of my shots — so much so that we almost turned our visits into a friendly photography competition as he didn’t want to be outdone by his grandchild!

My interest only grew from there. I chose photography at GCSE, achieving an A, and continued on to A-level, where I earned an A*. During that time, I also discovered film photography and learned how to develop images in the darkroom — an experience that deepened my appreciation for the craft and the magic behind every image.

I also attended a couple of family weddings as a teenager and of course took my camera along as I wanted to capture their special day in my own way. I remember sharing my photos back with them after the day and was complemented as to how I captured the essence so well and even said that they preferred some of my images over the actual photographer they hired :)

Alongside photography, I have a strong interest in geography and environmental biology, which I ended up going on to study at degree level. However, photography has always remained my true passion, something I just keep coming back to - especially throughout my travels after uni where this spark was reignited once more. Finally, after several years working in the corporate world, I have now decided it is time to follow my heart and pursue a career doing what I truly love.

I genuinely love all aspects of photography. Whatever the subject or occasion, I’m always searching for those beautiful, natural moments and the very best shots to tell a story. Any support as a new photographer trying to establish themselves in this industry will be truly appreciated!

Why choose me - my values:

  • RELAXED & AUTHENTIC

Capturing special moments should be all about joy, not stress. My approach is all about creating a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere where you can be yourselves - this is why I prefer to work on location rather than in a studio, so you can be in a place where you can feel relaxed.

  • EMPATHY & UNDERSTANDING

I totally get it, that being in front of the camera can sometimes feel awkward and nerve-wracking, especially when you know you are the centre of attention. But this is normal and my goal is to always try and empathise and create a no judgement zone where you can be yourself and let those natural expressions flow freely.

  • LGBTQ+ INCLUSIVE PHOTOGRAPHER

Being an inclusive photographer matters to me and everyone should be able to feel comfortable, respected and have their special story captured just how they wish too, love is love!
